Cougar | Lynx | Bobcat
The Cariboo/Chilcotin region of British Columbia has the reputation of having some of the largest cougars on average in North America. Our main lodge is centrally located in our fifteen hundred square mile guiding territory, allowing our clients the luxury of combining first class accommodation with one of the most exciting predator hunts anywhere in North America. Our predator hunts can be for individual species or customized to include all three of our cat species with added opportunity for Wolf and Coyote. Until December 10th, Mule Deer and/or Moose can also be added on a trophy fee basis. These hunts can be conducted on snowmobile, all-terrain vehicle, or pick-up truck depending on the depth of the snow at the time.
For all those individuals who enjoy being in the company of, and watching well trained canines at work, this hunt will be a classic that you will not soon forget. Our hounds’ men take great pleasure in working some of the most well trained dogs in the industry, providing our clients with a high degree of success in taking home the animal that they came to pursue. As our west coast weather comes predominantly from the Pacific and we are in the shadow of the Coast Mountain Range of British Columbia, most of the precipitation unloads on the higher mountains before it reaches our area. The result is a cold dry climate that receives an average yearly accumulation of precipitation of about 9-11 inches. Our area does not get a large enough accumulation of snow to warrant the use of snowshoes.
This greatly enhances our client’s ability and success during the final pursuit on foot. We do, however, get many small snow flurries during our November to March cat hunting season which greatly enhances our ability to track animals.
