Black Bear Hunts

Our guide territory has an abundance of Black Bears, and with a limited harvest, we are able to continually harvest large trophy class males. This is all spot-and-stalk hunting at its finest in the open grassland country and logging cut blocks. There is nothing more thrilling than going one-on-one with a bear in open country, especially if you choose to do it with a bow.

Because of a large percentage of brown color phase bears, about 60% of our harvest is black and the remainder are a variety of shades from blonde to chocolate brown. With a bag limit of two bears, many of our clients have returned home with two animals of a different color phase.

Most of the spring Black Bear hunting is done in the late afternoon and evening which can create some great opportunity for fly fishing on our many still water lakes for our “hunting and fishing” clients.

The majority of our big game hunts are conducted with one guide/hunter; however, two hunters to one guide on our Black Bear hunts is popular and a more affordable way to hunt. This is a great introductory hunt for someone who is just starting out on guided hunts. The accommodation while bear hunting is at our new lodge centrally located in the guide territory with all the amenities of home. We can accommodate parties of up to four people on these hunts.
